Women, Womxn, Mothers

This week has really been centred around women and for good reason. It was International Women’s Day on Monday, the disappearance of Sarah Everard has hit the news and this Sunday is Mother’s Day. While all of these are important I am going to stick to the more positive side of things as although I believe there needs to be discussion around the behaviour that women have to deal with on a daily basis I don’t think this is the time of place for it.

Instead I am going to take this time to reflect on the number of incredible, strong, inspiring and wonderful women I have surrounding me, both in my personal life and those in my crafty life too. You know who you are and I cannot thank you enough for your never ending support. I am even blessed with an amazing woman that I am lucky to be able to call my partner, my love and my rock who supports and cares for me endlessly for which I am very thankful.

Looking towards Sunday, which is Mother’s Day, I think its appropriate to reflect on the number of fantastic women out there who are mums as well. Mothers are incredible people with the strength, courage and multi-tasking skills like no other. I am very fortunate to have an incredible, caring and loving mum who although I haven’t seen in many months is always there for support, love and life advice. It will be a hard day to be apart but there is always video calls.

Over the last week it has been all about creating (mostly floral!) cards for mums to receive this weekend and I couldn’t be happier to make them, knowing they will bring a smile to someone who has given so much care and love to the world as a mother and as a woman.

So today I am sending all the love and good vibes to my fellow womxn out there, we got this!
